The selection results will be announced by mid-April 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"680\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/merfish.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021_MSCA_25th-SM_banner_FB-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1130\" srcset=\"https:\/\/merfish.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021_MSCA_25th-SM_banner_FB-1.jpg 680w, https:\/\/merfish.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021_MSCA_25th-SM_banner_FB-1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/merfish.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021_MSCA_25th-SM_banner_FB-1-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rea.ec.europa.eu\/funding-and-grants\/horizon-europe-marie-sklodowska-curie-actions\/msca-doctoral-networks-2021_en\">Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Actions<\/a><a>Search for available translations of the preceding link<em>EN<\/em><strong>\u2022\u2022\u2022<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;(MSCA) Doctoral Networks 2021 call, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) received 1077 proposals by the deadline of 16 November 2021.&nbsp; Applicants from 56 countries have applied for funding under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/opportunities\/portal\/screen\/opportunities\/topic-details\/horizon-msca-2021-dn-01-01\">HORIZON-MSCA-2021-DN-01<\/a>&nbsp;call for proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a total available budget of \u20ac402,95 million to fund research and innovation projects for MSCA Doctoral Networks (DN), whose purpose is to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s call confirms that the standard&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rea.ec.europa.eu\/funding-and-grants\/horizon-europe-marie-sklodowska-curie-actions\/msca-doctoral-networks-2021_en\">Doctoral Networks (DN)<\/a><a>Search for available translations of the preceding link<em>EN<\/em><strong>\u2022\u2022\u2022<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is the most popular scheme with 897 proposals submitted, followed by the DN Industrial Doctorates (DN-ID) with 101 proposals, and the DN Joint Doctorates (DN-JD) with 78 proposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects will be selected for funding with the support of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/funding-tenders\/opportunities\/portal\/screen\/work-as-an-expert\">external independent expert evaluators<\/a>drawn from the European Commission&#8217;s experts&#8217; database. Evaluations are expected to start on 5 January 2022, and the selection results will be announced by 19 April 2022 at the latest.
