From 14:00 – 15:30 on Tuesday 25th April the Symposium will be holding a Science Cafe event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n MERFISH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n What is mercury and how are people exposed to it? What are the health risks associated with mercury exposure, especially for vulnerable groups? These questions and many others will be addressed during the MERFISH Science Caf\u00e9, which is taking place as part of the 2nd<\/sup> ISO-FOOD Symposium, Portoro\u017e, Slovenia, on Tuesday April 25th<\/sup> 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Organised by Prof. Dr. Milena Horvat and Dr. Janja Snoj Tratnik from the Jo\u017eef Stefan Institute IJS, Department of Environmental Sciences, the Science Caf\u00e9 will provide a platform for the general public to interact with scientists and find out about the research in a casual and accessible setting. The programme will involve talks on the research, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience so that they can learn about and engage with this significant topic addressed by the MERFISH project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Funded under the H2020-MSCA-RISE program, MERFISH is a 48-month project coordinated by the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) to tackle our understanding of mercury-selenium interactions from fish to humans.
